The arrival of a new gaming generation always shakes up the status quo – not just in the console space, but for PC owners too. With new Xbox and PlayStation hardware effectively resetting the baseline, how does your existing gaming rig stack up? Do you need to upgrade? What kind of PC kit is now required to match the console experience? We’ve already tested Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, finding that relatively high-end PC kit is required to get the job done, while Watch Dogs Legion lowered expectations – provided you had an Nvidia RTX card. Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is our next port of call.

You can watch our entire process in matching PlayStation 5’s visual make-up to PC in the embedded video below, but through a process of careful testing, it was possible to provide a very close match, up to and including ray tracing features, … Read the rest

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of the messiest to-date, going far beyond simple glitches and game fixes. From hostile work conditions to a lack of any clear planning, the road to launch has been paved with negativity and it looks like the hits will continue as a second class-action lawsuit against CD Projekt Red has been filed.

In a new report from, the lawsuit has been filed via the US District Court for the Central District of California. Nuts, a game all about keeping your eyes on squirrels as they get up to no good, finally has a release date on PC and Switch.

The game is set to launch on Apple Arcade first on January 22 before landing on PC and Switch on February 4.

“Gear up your caravan, boot up your GPS, spread out your map and head for the depths of Melmoth Forest,” reads a blurb for the game over on the Nuts site. “As a rookie field researcher, you’ll place cameras during the day, and watch the footage at night, tracking the movements of a scurry of squirrels.

“Where do they hide their nuts? What puzzling routes do they take? And why do they behave so strangely?” We’d be lying if we said this wasn’t one of the best concepts we’ve seen for a game for a very long time.

Additionally, the … Read the rest

If you live in London, New York or another global metropolis, you’re probably used to the idea of your local area being represented in big-budget media. But if you’re from Gloucestershire, the closest things get is Hot Fuzz. Though the county is frequently used as a filming location, it’s rarely the focus of the spotlight, and the list of video games set in Gloucestershire is… rather sparse. All of which meant I was shocked to discover that Gloucestershire is not only visitable in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, but that it boasts its own storyline.

Having grown up in the area, I was curious to see exactly how my home had been represented. How true would it be to real history? Would it still feel like Gloucestershire? How do you even squash most of England into a game? So I packed up my Viking gear and set sail for the in-game … Read the rest

Hitman 3 launches on January 20, and developer IO Interactive is celebrating the impending release with a brand-new trailer that gives eager fans a glimpse at some of the deadly scenarios that lie ahead. The video (which you can watch above) has its fair share of guns, violence, and death – but maybe not as much as you would expect for a game about a professional killer.

The footage places equal emphasis on the various locations that players will visit in Hitman 3, which makes sense considering how important your surroundings are in this game. Not only does your environment provide an appealing visual backdrop, but it also plays a role in your strategy, including unlocking persistent shortcuts as you play through levels multiple times.

We see several different locations in the trailer, including a country mansion, a towering skyscraper, and more. Because these … Read the rest
