Months ago, Capcom announced Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’s final content update with plans to permanently reintroduce all event quests and rotate hub-specific festivals every two weeks. That update, entitled 15.10, dropped today in advance of Monster Hunter Rise’s 2021 release. So, while everyone is gearing up to clear any limited-time modes they might’ve missed over the years, I’ll be in my element: Alone; among the rustling forests, echoing canyons, and frozen prairies of the New World.

Monster Hunter: World was an unexpected gift from my best friend. He’d been playing Capcom’s famed action/RPG franchise for as long as I could remember. I wasn’t particularly impressed by his explanations of the series’ age-old gameplay loop. Even so, I spent half of Monster Hunter: World’s launch day tinkering with its character creator. Soon, my avatar “Spider Face ” was born, and together we spent hundreds of hours conducting field research Read the rest

Dauntless lets you roam around islands hunting down behemoths and using parts of them to craft new and exciting weaponry. The free-to-play game has been around for quite some time (we reviewed it all the way back in early access, much has changed since then) and today Dauntless adds an open world experience to the game with the launch of Dauntless Reforged. 18 different open world islands are added to the mix where players can hunt a plethora of different beasts, find treasures, and more.

Previously, island hunts would task players with hunting down a behemoth and completing a mission in a task structure of sorts. Today, players can engage with The Hunting Grounds in order to explore, hunt, and collect in a variety of environments that are designed to offer variance, replayability, and surprise. Along the way you can find treasure, take on multiple behemoths, and uncover other … Read the rest

Dauntless Reforged launches December 3 and includes a substantial rework of previous systems and the introduction of a brand-new hunt type. Here are three new things to experience in the Shattered Isles when this update goes live on Xbox One.

Hunting Grounds

The Hunting Grounds hunt type offers an entirely new way to engage with the Shattered Isles. 18 new islands support up to 6 slayers at once, and the best part? You no longer have to leave! Stay and slay to your heart’s content. With 18 islands to explore, you’ll never find a dull moment. Face hostile fauna, unlock rewards, and take on ferocious behemoths to your heart’s content.

Since you’re able to spend more time on Hunting Grounds islands than in previous hunt types, we’ve also added the ability to seamlessly restock your supplies on islands through a new consumable source: Supply crates. Supply crates let you refresh … Read the rest

Prior to the last-gen launch of Madden NFL 21, EA Sports announced that those who purchased the game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One would be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X version for free thanks to its Dual Entitlement system. The new-gen version is set to launch on Friday, December 4. However, EA Sports has announced that those who are upgrading from the last-gen version will have access to the new-gen version today, a day earlier than expected.

Unfortunately, there’s some bad news for those upgrading from PS4 to PS5: The online will not work at launch. According to EA Tiburon, the development team discovered a previously unknown issue with the PS5 version of Madden NFL 21 late in the final testing phase. The issue only occurs when the PS5 version is connected to the EA servers, so until the fix (which the team … Read the rest

Hello, People of the Fog.

A new chapter is now available in Dead by Daylight and brings with it a unique killer and survivor. The theme of the chapter is family: what we do for family, what we sacrifice for family, how family builds and shapes who we are… And our new killer knows about family as it is a conjoined brother and sister, also known as The Twins! Let’s hear more from Dead by Daylight Creative Director Dave Richard.

Dead by Daylight Associate Brand Manager Thomas Carpentier: It’s the first time that a killer is composed of two different characters. How did the idea come to the development team? What was unique and interesting as the development progressed?

Dead by Daylight Creative Director Dave Richard: The ability to separate and control multiple independent characters with different abilities has always been a fascinating concept to the team. Over the years, … Read the rest

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 ended with Galactus being defeated and Agent Jonesy waking up, and now? The world of Battle Royale is different once more. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 kicks off bringing everyone’s cutest little guy back into the spotlight with The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda (or Grogu, if you want to abandon the cute nickname).

Epic Games calls season 5 “zero point” and it means the few rules this universe has are officially out of the window. Across different realities, hunters are called to fight against a looming threat called “the loop.” From manga characters that look like they’ve literally just popped out of an anime, to a weird pancake lookin’ thing, take a look at a few of the screenshots in the slideshow below for a closer look at the new season:

Compared to the lifespan of most games, World of Warcraft is ancient – but it’s hardly a relic. Even today, Blizzard’s MMORPG continues to keep the content flowing for players old and new. Shadowlands is the eighth expansion, and this journey through the afterlife comes with fresh features alongside systems that will be extremely familiar to veterans of the game. At the core, Shadowlands succeeds with powerful world-building fantasy, player identity, and bold gameplay elements.

Shadowlands’ premise is simple and straightforward. You invade the many realms of the afterlife to foil the plans of a mysterious arch-enemy called the Jailer. He is exceptionally boring as a villain right now, and takes a backseat to the true all-stars of the afterlife: the four distinct factions that the player explores and eventually aligns … Read the rest
