The Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare October patch is here.

As promised, Infinity Ward rolled out the latest update for Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. The patch is roughly 10GB (20GB on PC) in size, and its biggest highlight is that it finally makes it possible for PC players to remove modes they’re not playing

This process can only be done after downloading the patch, and it’s available on the launcher, not through the game. In fact, Modern Warfare needs to be closed for you to be able to uninstall what you no longer need.

Infinity Ward confirmed that Warzone cannot be uninstalled, but you will be able to remove the Spec Ops co-op mode, the single-player campaign and even regular multiplayer. It goes without saying that those options will only be available to owners of the full game, not free-to-play Warzone players.

You’re boring people, sweetie.

Larian Studios has issued another hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3 along with a request to create more interesting characters.

The game has a robust character creator with plenty of options to choose from, yet according to Larian, early access players aren’t creating very interesting characters.

Using analytics, the team took the most popular choices in character creation and recreated a character based on the data received. Larian stated at first it thought analytics wasn’t working properly, but after checking, it was indeed working as intended.

After gathering the data, the team created a character using choices made the most, and came up with something totally basic.

“Congratulations, you’ve basically made the default Vault Dweller,” stated Larian. “What the hell guys. We gave you demon eyes, horns, and even tails. We are sorely disappointed. Go crazy. We worked hard on this.”

Seriously, you need to have fun … Read the rest

Sony has said in an FAQ of sorts that the “overwhelming majority” of the available 4,000 PlayStation 4 titles will be playable on PS5.

That said, Sony did list 10 PS4 titles that are not compatible PS5.

The backward compatibility information page also stated that select PS4 games will benefit from PS5’s Game Boost, which may make current-gen games run with a higher or smoother frame rate on the next-gen system.

It is also noted that some functionalities on PS4 may not be available on the new console and that some may even “exhibit errors or unexpected behavior” when played on PS5.

Sony also warned that before purchasing add-ons, try to boot and play the PS4 games on the new console first to see if you are “happy with the play experience.”

The ten games which will not be playable on the new console are below. Any PS4 game … Read the rest

Not all of your FIFA 21 progress will transfer from current-gen to next-gen, according to EA.

EA has offered up some information on what will and will not transfer from the current-gen version of FIFA 21 to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

According to the company, all progress and content within FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, and progression in Volta will transfer from PS4 to PS5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S.

However, as Eurogamer notes, progress within all other modes will not. This includes Online Seasons, co-op Seasons, Career Mode, and Pro Clubs. Basically, with Career Mode not transferring, it will mean you have to start that portion over again when switching console generations.

EA states the reason is having to make concessions due to the time required to “make all modes transferable.”

“When we start developing for a new generation of consoles, there’s ultimately some trade-offs we need … Read the rest

First impressions of the PlayStation 5 are starting to circulate after a hands-on event, and various commentators are reporting that the console runs impressively quietly.

Anyone that’s played the likes of The Last of Us Part II or God of War on a PlayStation 4 or a PlayStation 4 Pro knows just how noisy the console can get. Once the fans kick in, you’d be forgiven for thinking a plane is taking off in your living room.

It seems that the noise issue has been addressed with Sony’s next generation of hardware, though. A set of hands-on previews seems to agree that the PlayStation 5 is an impressively quiet console.

“[…] What was shocking to me this time was how quiet the fan was,” says a write-up from Dengeki Online. “There must have been many people who were curious about this. It was so quiet!”

4gamer also notes that whilst … Read the rest
