Since 2017, over 2.6 million people have revisited their childhood fears by playing Little Nightmares. The strange events those fans experienced during their escape from The Maw have spawned countless theories and an active community of sleuths, all trying their best to interpret the dark yet charming dollhouse of a dream that they explored with Six.

Now, you can sample a demo of the new nightmare from the creators of this much-beloved game. Play as Mono and explore the Wilderness outside of the Pale City, where you can just begin to see the effects of the Transmission warping the world around him. He’ll have a chance to save Six from captivity, and together, they’ll have to survive an encounter with the Hunter, who doesn’t appreciate it when prey escape from his traps.

Game streaming is slowly clawing its way into a viable position as a mainstream alternative to consoles – and a native TV app is a big step forward.

While the ongoing pandemic is preventing the industry from gathering in Las Vegas, the Consumer Electronics Show continues online – and one of the biggest announcements for video games was quietly made by TV maker LG as it revealed its 2021 line-up. That reveal? Several of LG’s new TVs will support native apps for playing Google Stadia games. Some older LG TVs will also get an update to offer the app at a later date.

Right now, playing Google Stadia on a TV relies on you having a Chromecast device that you plug into a TV’s HDMI port. You sync a controller to the Chromecast device, then boot into a Stadia app within that to play. This is a notable development, as … Read the rest

AMD’s brand new RDNA 2 architecture has arrived for desktop PCs via the RX 6000 line of graphics cards – and it’s an important release, bringing with it full hardware support for the DirectX 12 Ultimate feature set, including the DXR API. Yes, ray tracing is now part and parcel of AMD’s high-end parts, and we wanted to get a grip on just how effective the Radeon rendition of the technology is in the RX 6800 XT – and how it compares to its closest rival, the RTX 3080. Benchmarks have shown that Nvidia’s second generation technology is faster than AMD’s debut offering, but what’s the full story here?

To help put this piece together, XFX sent me a factory overclocked example of the RX 6800 XT, specifically the Speedster Merc 319 edition of the card. Using its own tri-fan cooler design, this monstrous card delivers boost clocks rated at … Read the rest

After months of delays, it looks like we may finally get to see the launch of Rust Console Edition now that the game has been rated by the ESRB.

Rust’s lead developer, Double Eleven, announced that the popular PC game would be making the jump to consoles way back at X019, but we’ve heard precious little about the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game since then.

The initial release date suggested at the Xbox show pegged the game as releasing sometime in 2020, but as per an announcement from the studio last month that has slipped back somewhat.

Now, though, players eager to see their virtual dongs brought to life via the magic of Xbox and PlayStation have renewed confidence they’ll see the game soon.

A listing on the Entertainment Software Rating Board’s website reveals a Mature (M) rating, and confirms the game is coming to the previously announced … Read the rest

Cyberpunk 2077 – one of the very biggest games of 2020 and also one of the most contentious, most notably because on last-gen consoles, the experience is sub-par to the say the least. The next-gen machines fare better, but there’s another contender to consider too: Google’s Stadia streaming platform. The closer we looked at the Stadia port, the more interesting it became, and in actual fact, there are scenarios that see it deliver improved visuals over the Xbox Series X rendition of the game.

Coming to these conclusions and getting the data I needed was problematic. In the current Covid situation, ensuring we’re playing Stadia at its best when our home internet connection doesn’t play ball is a bit of a challenge. You can get the full story in the embedded video below, but suffice to say, after driving out to cell towers, rigging an in-car portable capture system, then … Read the rest

Each year, we look forward to bringing many new controller designs to our fans. Today, we’re excited to introduce the latest design in the new generation of controllers, the Xbox Wireless Controller – Pulse Red. With a vivid, fiery-red topcase and crisp, white backcase, the new Pulse Red controller brings the same energy and equally striking color as the Shock Blue. Matte black triggers, bumpers, and hybrid D-pad reduce slip against sweaty fingers and thumbs for greater control, while a textured dot pattern on the triggers and bumpers to keep your grip locked in. Dynamic Latency Input delivers controller inputs more frequently to your Xbox Series X|S for a more responsive gaming experience and … Read the rest
