One of the biggest benefits of all that power is giving developers the ability to make games that are Xbox Series X Optimized. This means that they’ve taken full advantage of the unique capabilities of Xbox Series X, both for new titles built natively using the Xbox Series X development environment as well as previously released titles that have been rebuilt specifically for the console. In our Inside Xbox Series X Optimized series, these creators will share the behind-the-scenes accounts of how they’re optimizing their titles for Xbox Series X and what that means for the future of gaming. Today, we’ll be chatting with David Amata, Product Director, Maneater Next-Gen at Tripwire Interactive about optimizing Maneater for Xbox Series X.

During this summer’s EA Play event, EA announced that Apex Legends was headed to Steam and Nintendo Switch, the latter of which this fall. Well, developer Respawn has some good news and some bad news. On the positive side, Apex Legends arrives on Steam next month. Bad news: the Switch version has been delayed out of 2020.

In a blog post, Respawn updated fans on what’s going on in the world of Apex Legends. The game officially arrives on Steam November 4. If that’s not exciting enough, that just happens to be the same day that the still-mysterious Season 7 will go live. But wait, there’s more! Origin players will also have their account progression and unlocks carried over the Steam version. That bit is unsurprising given how EA partnered with Valve almost a year ago to bring their titles to Steam. That’s an awesome gesture nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Switch owners Read the rest

The Last of Us Remastered developer Naughty Dog has rolled out another impressive patch for the iconic survival game – and its standalone expansion, The Last of Us: Left Behind – which has made some pretty impressive improvements to the title’s loading times.

And who would notice the improvements more than a dedicated TLOU speedrunner? Anthony Calabrese, a big part of the speedrunning community for the PlayStation 4 game, noted that the patch all but eliminates loading times in the title with the 1.11 update.

A long time ago I was looking for a game to play. Something colorful offering a great single-player experience. After a long time of searching I couldn’t find what I was looking for. 3D combat platformers were my favorite genre during my childhood days, but unfortunately this kind of genre was pretty scarce on PC.

At some point I had a crazy idea: Why not create my own game? I was young and I had no idea how easy or hard this would be. Everything started with a simple search on the internet: “How to make games?”. Sounds a bit cliché? Yeah, you may be right, but that’s how the endlessly long learning process began.

The first idea was to make a scarecrow controlling other crows. True, it’s a stereotype. But hey, that’s where everything began. I learned the creation of 3D models, tinkered my first scarecrow, taught myself how … Read the rest

But changes, they are necessary, so here’s what you need to know about how these three weapons are getting nerfed down, and which ones are just going through a few little evolutionary changes:
